What SEO plugin do we recommend?
At MDB we recommend installing the Yoast Plugin. Yoast has a free and pro version and is extremely user friendly. There are others on the market such as Spyfu and Deepcrawl. All have positive points. It will come down to what you feel comfortable using.
What is On-Page SEO?
This refers to tactics utilised on or within a page to assist it in ranking higher in a search engine. On-page SEO includes both content and the HTML source code of a page including image optimization, keyword optimization, and more.
How long until I start to see results?
There are a variety of factors that will determine how quickly results can be seen. Smaller websites will most likely take longer because they get less traffic. Wait almost a month, before you consider changing your SEO strategy.
Will not having a SSL hurt my SEO?
Yes! Google and other search engines looks on pages like these favourably. Not only does it index HTTPS pages first, but it also recognizes HTTPS as a ranking signal. HTTPS is also faster than HTTP, which can affect click-through rate.
Do I need to have “alt text” on my images?
Simply put, yes. Search engines cannot read images, but they can read text. The alt text helps them figure out what the images are all about. Plus, if a page doesn’t load for some reason, people can still find out what the image is by reading the alt text.
Can MDB guarantee me 1st place?
No. Never!. SEO is not an exact science and no one can guarantee that you will reach the first page or even the top 3 positions. Those who guarantee this are taking advantage of people with very little knowledge in this area.
